Timberland Federal Credit Union
Our Story started in 1973, when we were originally known as Riverside Employees FCU. With great foresight, the 1985 board of directors changed our name to Timberland Federal Credit Union. DuBois was known for their Timber industry and in French “DuBois” means “of the woods”. This new name helped cement the credit union as a staple of the community.
More than 50 years later, GROW became a word we earned and do say a lot. We now have four branches and serve fourteen counties. Our premier partner Happy Valley Financial Services allows us to offer our members investment advice from a Fiduciary. We have partnered with other businesses within the communities to offer a better solution to banking – we are Banking Redefined, or our more common tagline – TIMBERLAND FCU, a credit union YOU can GROW with! What does this mean? We are the credit union that strives to fulfill our members wants, needs and dreams from childhood to retirement years, a credit union that will not lose sight of the philosophy, People helping People!
A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and operated democratically by members. A credit union provides various financial services, such as savings accounts, checking accounts, loans, and credit cards, to their members. They emphasize community service and often offer more favorable rates and terms compared to traditional banks. Profits are typically returned to members in the form of reduced fees, lower loan rates, and higher savings yields.
