Lycoming Career & Technology Center
DESCRIPTION
Our vision is to be the leader in providing progressive and innovative learning experiences that empower the success of a global workforce.
We are an alliance of cooperating school districts, delivering quality career and technical programs with business and education partnerships, that develop skills necessary for a successful transition to a career and/or continuing education. Our member school districts include: Benton, East Lycoming, Loyalsock, Montoursville, Muncy, and Warrior Run.
We are located on the campus of East Lycoming School District in Hughesville with over 325 students attending our 7 state approved career and technical education programs that include Automotive, Computer Systems, Construction Trades, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood, and Health Careers.
REQUIREMENTS
As a 3-year high school option for students in grades 10-12, our graduates perform very well on NOCTI industry exam (over 80% are competent/advanced) and are equipped with foundational skills as they enter the workforce or continue their training at the post-secondary level. Students in their senior year have the opportunity to participate in our cooperative education program where they continue to advance their skils through work based learning placements at businesses related to their program of study.
We look to engage with businesses and the community through a variety of ways. Historically, our students have completed projects in the community, visited businesses and organizations on field trips, and learned about industry specific trainings and opportunities through guest speaker presentations at the school. Our instructors meet with their industry specific advisory committees twice each school year, and would welcome additional members at anytime.
If you are interested in developing a partnership or collaboration with one of our programs please reach out to us by email or phone. We are always looking for ways to strenghthen our partnerships and continue to provide high levels of career and technical education in collaboration with businesses and the community.
