Job Shadow
See the Job in Action: Electrician Job Shadow

Dietz Electric offers job shadow opportunities for high school students who want to see what a career in the electrical trade is really like. During a job shadow, students observe experienced electricians on active job sites, learn about daily responsibilities, safety practices, and the tools used in the field, and ask questions about training and career pathways. This short-term experience helps students explore the electrical trade in a safe, real-world setting and decide if it’s a career they want to pursue in the future.

During a Job Shadow experience at Dietz Electric, you’ll work alongside experienced electricians on real commercial, industrial, and construction projects. This opportunity allows students and career explorers to learn through hands-on experience while assisting with installing and maintaining electrical systems. You’ll gain exposure to wiring, conduit, panels, and fixtures while learning to safely use tools, read blueprints, and follow electrical safety standards. Along the way, you’ll build valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and workplace safety. Electricians are in high demand, offering strong pay, job stability, and a rewarding hands-on career that helps power homes, schools, hospitals, and businesses every day.
