
Clinton County Conservation District
The Clinton County Conservation District provides quality leadership, education, and service for the stewardship and conservation of the county’s natural resources.
The Clinton County Conservation District was organized at the request of county citizens who recognized the importance of soil and water conservation, land use planning, and flood prevention. The District was officially declared by the Clinton County Board of Commissioners on December 19, 1946.
Since its formation, the District has evolved to address modern conservation challenges while maintaining its original mission of protecting natural resources at the local level.
Our services include, but are not limited to:
- Agricultural conservation planning and best management practices
- Nutrient Management and Manure Management assistance
- Erosion and Sediment Control guidance and inspections
- Water Obstruction and Encroachment technical assistance
- Watershed restoration and stream improvement projects
- Dirt, Gravel, and Low Volume Road projects
- Grant administration and project coordination
- Environmental education and outreach
