Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteer With Us

The Scratching Post Cat Café offers a flexible volunteer experience for students interested in animal welfare, community engagement, and nonprofit work. Student volunteers support daily operations and community engagement efforts in a unique, mission-driven environment.

This opportunity is designed as a general volunteer experience that allows students to explore non-profit work while contributing in meaningful ways to the care and adoption of rescue cats.

Volunteer Opportunities
– Supporting café operations during open hours (welcoming guests, offering general assistance)
– Cleaning and organization to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for cats and guests which is ideal for those who prefer a more task focused-environment behind-the-scenes
– Assisting with special events held at the café

Structure & Expectations
Volunteers working in the café will complete an orientation and training prior to starting. Café shifts will be scheduled in advance, and volunteers are expected to arrive on time, remain engaged during their shift, and follow café policies. Students will work alongside experienced volunteers and team members to ensure a supportive and productive experience initially and then may work independently on cleaning and organizational tasks. Volunteers welcoming guests during café open hours will work with a volunteer shift-mate.
